Menopause care
Troubled by menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep problems, joint pain, or fatigue? Our gynecologists help you with a personal treatment plan that has proven effective for many women. Our team consists of specialized gynecologists and menopause nurses.

What is menopause?
Menopause is the period during which the ovaries gradually produce less oestrogen and progesterone. This usually begins between the ages of 45 and 55, but can also occur earlier (premature menopause).
Menopause progresses in phases: perimenopause (the lead-up), menopause itself (the point at which you have not had a period for 12 months), and postmenopause.
Every woman experiences menopause differently. Some have hardly any symptoms, while others suffer for years from symptoms that significantly affect their quality of life.
Perimenopause
The lead-up to menopause. Your hormone levels begin to fluctuate, which can lead to irregular periods, hot flashes, and mood swings.
Menopause
The point at which you have not had a period for 12 months. The ovaries produce virtually no more oestrogen.
Postmenopause
The phase after menopause. Symptoms often decrease, but long-term effects of low hormone levels require attention, such as osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease.
Common symptoms
Declining hormone levels can cause a wide range of symptoms. This are the most common ones.
Hot flashes & night sweats
Sudden waves of heat that can last from minutes to half an hour, often accompanied by sweating. This is the most common menopause symptom.
Sleep problems
Difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early. Often worsened by night sweats, leading to chronic fatigue.
Mood changes
Irritability, anxiety, low mood, and mood swings. These symptoms are often not immediately associated with menopause.
Joint problems
Stiffness, pain, and swelling in joints, particularly in the morning. Oestrogen plays a role in maintaining cartilage and joints.
Vaginal dryness
Thinning of the vaginal wall and reduced moisture, which can lead to discomfort, itching, and pain during intercourse.
Cognitive symptoms
Forgetfulness, difficulty concentrating, and "brain fog". Many women find this alarming, but it is a well-known menopause symptom.

Menopause nurse consultation
Sometimes you do not need more medication, but more insight. Our menopause nurse takes a full hour to answer your questions about lifestyle, nutrition, and stress management. How do you deal with stress? How does nutrition affect your hot flashes? How do you stay mentally balanced?
During a one hour consultation, we review your lifestyle, diet, and daily habits. You receive practical tools to support your hormones naturally and reduce menopause symptoms.
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
HRT is the most effective treatment for menopause symptoms. It supplements the hormones that the body produces less of. Modern HRT is safe for most women when started at the right time.
Oestrogen therapy
Via patches, gel, or tablets. The method of delivery is tailored to your preference and medical profile for optimal results.
Progesterone
Necessary to protect the uterine lining when using oestrogen. We use bio-identical progesterone.
Local therapy
Vaginal cream or ovules specifically for urogenital symptoms such as dryness, itching, and recurrent urinary tract infections.
Alternatives
For women for whom HRT is not suitable, we offer proven non-hormonal alternatives and lifestyle guidance.
